Can Fever Lead To Excessive Tiredness, Sleepiness And Disturbed State Of Mind In A 62 Year Old?

Question: My husband is 62 yrs old. He had been sick. Coughing and has fever. Last night he started saying words that I couldn't understand. He said he is just tired. He slept from 7pm to 4am. I went to work this morning and fell asleep again. Didn't go to work until 1pm. His coworkers and boss called me this afternoon telling me the same thing that I observed, can't form the right words when he is trying to explain something. I took him home , gave him soup and Advil because he has fever again. He is asleep now. Just want to let you know that I can't force him to see a doctor nor go to the hospital. What should I do? I need help!
