Question : If I think I have one or two of the early symptoms of shingles, i.e. tiredness, a burning sensation in one arm, should I still consider getting the shingles vaccine??

I understand your concern.The symptoms you have could be due to other nerve disorder too,since pain is the main symptom of shingles.

I was just worried that at your age taking vaccine could be little tricky,since immunity is generally low at old age.Sometimes even after taking vaccine shingles occur but with less severity and duration.

Contraindications of taking this vaccines are;
Allergy to gelatin,neomycin or any other component of this vaccine
weak immune system due to any disease.
taking any medicines like stroid etc.
