Question : Hi,
I'm male 29 yrs. Had unprotected oral sex with female age 40 days ago. Tested negative on HIV Elisa. Shall I also go for Western Bolt. I am feeling week since 30 days. Or there are any other tests that needs to be done along with Western bolt?
Brief Answer:
You can go for western blot
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You can go for western blot test. However, please wait for 12 weeks or 3 months after the exposure to get the test done.
You are negative for HIV ELISA. Most likely you will be negative for western blot test as well.
No, once you do western blot test after 12weeks, there is no need for other tests. This test would be confirmatory.
Hope this helps.
