Brief Answer:
both can be given in combination.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Cymbalta and celexa both are antidepressants which belong to different class.

Celexa can safely be combined with cymbalta.

There are some rules of combining the antidepressants:
1. Antidepressants are used in combination if an individual does not respond to two different antidepressants tried for adequate time and dose.

2. Its better to combine two antidepressants from two different classes.

3. The risks of side effects increase in combination. So it should be carefully monitored.

If you feel cymbalta is not enough, either it can be changed or can be combined with other antidepressant.

Your treating doctor can decide this for you.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further.

Thanks.
