Posted on Wed, 25 Feb 2015
Question: I am on 30 gm of prednisone twice a day for 5 days and my heart is racing and am desperate for sleep. I took one xanax which has always made me sleep the handful of times I have taken. No such luck on the prednisone. Can I take one advil pm to try to sleep tonight? (prednisone was prescribed for broncospasms... I have no other health issues at all. Thank you.

Brief answer....yes you can go ahead with Advil
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
ADVIL ( IBUPROFEN ) is an anti inflammatory analgesic and if you think it can help you in getting sleep, then you can take it.There is no harm or any contraindication in taking it.
Make sure that you are taking Xanax properly.
In case .5 mg is not helping you can take .75 mg till you are on prednisolone.
I hope it helps however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
