Question : My wife had a mastectomy on her left side about 25 years ago and she thinks 4 lymph nodes were removed which were deemed to be OK. Can the back of her left hand now be used for IV's?
Brief Answer:
Certainly Yes!
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Certainly yes!
Surgery was done 25 years back. This itself proves she is cured of the disease and supposedly 4 lymph nodes were removed.
Since the intravenous fluid/injection is given through the veins, there should be no problem at all.
The Lymphatic system ( nodes and vessels ) is totally different from the venous system.
So without ant doubts the back of her hand can be used for IVs.
