Can Low Consistency Of Watery Semen Cause Fertility Issues?

default
Posted on Fri, 23 May 2014
Question: Hi there I am male and 25 years old and fit and healthy. My semen over the last year is has been less thick. It is still white but watery. I waited for 4 day without masterbation and the semen was white but very watery and not thick and sticky/gooey like it used to be. Does this suggest i have fertility issues?

Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

This does not mean you have any fertility issues.

Your semen appears to be normal.

Please get semen analysis done in a good laboratory to assess parameters like sperm count and motility.

it was a mixture of white and clear watery semen over a teaspoon worth. My semen today (a day after) oddly enough was thicker and more white but less. did the first ejaculation contain less sperm? or does it not matter and you cant tell?

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
Hi

The volume is goood enough. Only the consistency has changed from thin to thick. This does not tell about tge quality of semen. It could be good or bad.

The semen quality needs to be tested by sperm count, sperm motility and morphology. These can only be tested in a laboratory.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

im guessing you mean by "good or bad", it makes no difference whether it is thick or thin?

Brief Answer:
viscosity

Detailed Answer:
Hi

In medical terms its called viscosity. The viscous thick semen liquifies in 30 min to one hour to thin form.

Then we calculate the parameters as I explained above.

Therefore what you say thin and thick does not signify anything.
