Posted on Mon, 19 Oct 2015
Question: when I use my mouse with my right hand my arm starts to tremble and also when I rest my hand on a table my arm trembles more a more even while holding something in my hand straight out with my arm does the same. Could this be a sign of ms or something else I am also very depressed and live in Canada and it takes so long for tests. I had a mri and it can back inconclusive so my doctor is sending me to a physiatrist when I think in need a neurologist.

What do you think it could be plus my whole body seems to vibrate.
Thanks for your time

Brief Answer:
MS and other serious neurologic conditions very unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, multiple sclerosis, or other serious neurologic diseases doesn't correspond to your concerns.

First, multiple sclerosis (MS) is very unlikely to be diagnosed at your age.

Second, there MRI results didn't support or raised any doubt about MS.

Third, other neurologic conditions that affect nerves and muscles, and could cause muscles twitches, doesn't result in limbs movements or shakings, they affect only groups of muscles and result in muscles twitching mainly.

Muscles weakness and atrophy is another hallmark of these neurologic disorders.

Fourth, anxiety disorder that you are suffering from, is well known to cause symptoms similar to yours.

I agree with your Doctor's opinion about consulting a Psychiatrist, or Psychologist, this is the best way to treat anxiety disorder.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
