Can One Contract An STD From A Hand Job Given By A Masseuse?

Question: Hello doctor. About 5 weeks ago i went to a massage. Masseuse worked about 45 minutes on my body and that ended with a hand job. Any risk of STD specially Herpes?

You should know that genital herpes infections after an exposure often have no symptoms, or mild symptoms that go unrecognised.
Usually, the first outbreak ( incubation period) of primary genital herpes is after 3-7 days (range, 1 day to 3 weeks).
After an initial genital herpes infection, recurrent symptoms are common but often less severe than the first outbreak and less frequent outbreaks.
Genital herpes is most contagious during an outbreak, but can also be transmitted when no symptoms are present.
