bacterial infection
Brief Answer:
If its bacterial infection, antibiotics should help.
Detailed Answer:
I do understand that this is bacterial infection caused colitis. That is why you take antibiotics for it. However sometimes what seems to be bacterial infection, turns into something else including ulcerative colitis or even colon cancer. Symptoms can be the same including diarrhea, blood and mucus in stool, abdominal pain, bloating.
I`am not sure how yours infection was diagnosed. If it is confirmed by stool culture tests infection, antibiotics will help. But if this diagnosis is established without this test, it does not have to be correct diagnosis.

Brief Answer:
You do not have colitis.
Detailed Answer:
Than you do not have colitis. Why do you ask about it than? Pain in the testicle can be due to its inflammation. Probably they have found an infection in the urine and gave you antibiotics for it.
Please consider testis ultrasound.
