Question : Can I give colicaid syrup to my 4 year old son for colic pain ? What is the dose ?
Brief Answer:
You may give 5 ml 3-4 times a day
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Colicaid contains simethicone and it helps in abdominal discomfort by easy expulsion of gases.
Each 5 ml of Colicaid contains 40 mg.The dose is 40 mg 3-4 times a day for this age.
So you may give 5 ml 3-4 times a day.
Side effect of simethicone is very rare.
If pain persists even after giving Colicaid syrup, please consult a pediatrician for evaluation of cause of pain.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more queries.
