Question : Can ongoing nausea indicate kidney disease? I'm 62 post-menopausal and my mother died of renal failure (although she had chronic heart disease) at age 69.
Brief Answer:
Kidney disease
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Ongoing nausea, loss of appetite along with edema of the legs and generalised weakness can indicate kidney disease.
Since you have a family history of renal failure I strongly suggest you to get a renal function test done as soon as possible.
For now here are my suggestions
1. Tab Omeprazole once a day before food for nausea
2. Avoid milk and milk products
3. Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking
4. Do not go to bed immediately after dinner, stay up for 2 hours
I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
Regards
