Question : I have been taking tylenol3 bid and librium25mg for for over 20 years. Now my dr says she cannot give me any pain meds because of the librium. Is this medical valid?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

I wonder what you mean by pain medication. Gabapentin is a pain medication. Tylenol 3 contains also 2 pain medications inside, acetaminophen and codeine. You also seem to take several other medications acting on nervous system such as trazodone, zoloft and librium. Librium is a drug which causes dependence so pain medication which may cause dependence is dangerous.
So in this setting you are really under too many medications. It is not about librium alone, it is about the whole combination. For that reason every new addition should be carefully considered due to the potential for side effects and abuse.
