Can Placing Eyeglasses In The Same Spot On Desk Where There Was A Paperback Book Cause Any Scratches On Eyeglasses?

Question: Can placing eyeglasses in the same spot on desk where there was a paperback book cause any scratches on eyeglasses? I removed the book from that spot on desk, then if I place my eyeglasses after some time in that spot will there be any leftover paper or book particles that can cause any scratches on eyeglasses? I usually put my eyeglasses in that spot on my desk, but someone placed a paperback book there when my eyeglasses were not there.

Glass spectacle do not catch scratches easily. Paperback or hard card board do not cause scratches on glass.

If the spectacle is made using fibre glass lens, yes there are chances for it getting scratched even with mild amount of friction with hard substances.

I believe my eyeglasses are made of plastic, both lens and frames. The lens should have scratch resistant coating, not sure about the eyeglass frame. Would there be any particles left from the book even when it is removed that could cause scratches on eyeglasses? Maybe i should wipe the area before setting my eyeglasses in that spot. Thanks.

So if I wipe the area where the book was temporarily I could place eyeglasses in that area (after the book is removed & area is wiped) and not worry about eyeglasses getting any scratches?
