Question : I'm 66 now- at age 64 I woke up during night with erection and an abnormal bulge half way down on right side and penis with a significant turn to the left at end of penis. was a little uncomfortable feeling. when erection went away and following days, bulge could be felt by hand. short period of time later- week or two weeks, maybe three, bulge disappeared, and then I noticed that the structure of my penis had changed. even in flaccid state-my penis is shorter. With erection ( my erections haven't been as strong and lasting in last 6 or 7 years) my penis is 1 1/2 in. shorter to (now to 5 1/2) and 1/2 in. narrower. even in flaccid but in erection Severe left hand bend and penis is also twisted with bottom vein running along side instead of underneath. I can feel hollow like areas in the left bottom of my penis and on the right side half way to end of penis. I went to a urologist and female PA said something about plaque and sent me on my way. I never been so distraught by a visit before. I have no idea what to do .

                                    Brief Answer:
Peyronie's disease
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Your penis has a condition called Peyronie's Disease. It is due to scar tissue called plaque. The exact cause of this condition is not clear but may be related to trauma or injury and may be related to bleeding.
Since the condition improves without treatment in some men, doctors often suggest waiting 1 to 2 years before they try to correct it. Mild cases of the condition rarely need treatment. Also, the pain that comes from Peyronie's disease happens only with an erection and is usually mild. If it’s not causing a problem with your sex life, treatment may not be necessary.
Do get back to me if you have further query.

Thinking back a little-In Feb. 2012, I took a fall off the patio and landed suare on my chest very hard . We were just home with wife from hospital, nextday on way to pharmacy when that happened. 2 d ays later I was put in hospital for ruptured splee. bleeding internally without knowing it All that blood pooled in my legs and I noticed my scrotm and penis became so fat with blood or fluid or what ever it was for about a week. Would that be a trauma as you mentioned?--Thank you for replying

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the update.
When you fell , you might have sustained a minor trauma to the penis which might have gone unnoticed in view of the more serious injuries and blood gravitating to your genitals. It could have initiated the process.
