Posted on Thu, 22 Sep 2016
Question: In your professional opinion is it as likely as not (over 50 percent) that post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) contributes to erectile dysfunction?

Secondly, is it a s likely as not that a stroke can contribute to retrograde ejaculation? Lastly, if a person suffers fear of performance, is a contributing factor to erectile dysfunction?

Again, Dr. Solanki, based on your knowledge and or medical literature you have read, is it as like as not that performance anxiety in male adults is a very common factor responsible for erectile dysfunction.
Lastly how likely is it that an ischemic stroke can be a contributing factor responsible for retrograde ejaculation?
Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
performance anxiety can cause ED in many

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for asking your doubts.

Paying attention to erection leads to performance anxiety. Sometime due to fatigue, lack of mood, situational problem or environmental changes man can fail in sex. It is normal phenomenon. After such failure when person actively thinks about erection or success of intercourse/masturbation, his mind is likely diverted to such thoughts. This is called performance anxiety. For constant erection continuous exciting/romantic/erotic feelings should be there in mind. If mind diverted to concern about erection, erection becomes weak or lost.

It is a very common cause of ED in adult males.

Ejaculation process is controlled by nervous system from spinal cord. Spinal cord in turn is controlled by brain. Ischemic stroke in brain particularly involving limbic system (temporal lobe) can dis-regulate ejaculation process and cause retrograde ejaculation.

Hope you are clear now.

Take care.
