Brief Answer:
you need ear check up

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
The episode you had after submurging head in water seems to be due to , water/air gushing in your middle ear ear..through throat or nose...this had irritated the eustachian tube that connects middle ear to nose&throat.
As this escaped out , it irritated the ear to cause pops&spinning spell.
I would advise to get a consultation of ENT specialist &MIR of ear to exclude any problem in middle or internal ear..(.this would prevent recurrance in future )&get needful treatment as advised.
I hope that helps.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
