Question : Is it possible that shingles cause vaginal herpes? How long can the herpes virus stay dormant?

The virus that causes shingles is not the same virus responsible for genital herpes. Vaginal herpes is a sexually transmitted infection and the virus can remain dormant in the body life long. It can cause lesions whenever the body immunity decreases. It can be associated with old age also.
