Hello dear. Welcome to hcm. So soda bicarbonate injection is commonly used in clinical practice for treating metabolic acidotic condition during renal failure, or sepsis, and as a mouth wash. If given in extra doses, it can cause alkalosis of blood which is dangerous. Moreover, this injection is an irritant and if get extravasated from vein can cause skin necrosis and inflammation of blood vessels.
