Hello,

Having a child by a surrogate, while both parents are carriers does not mean you will have a disease-free child. I do not understand what you mean by "egg is different but mother same". Please explain, so I can better advise you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:

Possible carrier child

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

In this case, there would be 50% chance that the child can be a carrier (have thalassemia minor). The chance of having a diseased child (with thalassemia major) is 0.

A pregnancy with a healthy donor egg and a carrier sperm has a 50% chance of producing of producing a healthy child.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
