Question: Hi, my mom has an ovarian cyst for many years. Recently it almost double in size .She had an abdominal catscan done. She was not feeling good in the past 3 months and recently she was running a fever of 102 for a week. She end up in the ER because she felt very weak and suffered from nausea. The blood work in the ER showed ubnormal liver profile and thyroid functions. She does not have any fever now but still very weak. Could that be associated with the cyst and what other test could be done to eliminate that suspicion. Thank you so much. Can the elevated level of c-reactive protein ( over 20) be an indication of malignancy of the cyst?
