Hello and thank you for using Ask a Doctor for your health related queries.
According to some research studies, there is a positive correlation between an existing aortic aneurysm and steroid use. Extended steroid use was found to increase the diameter of an existing aneurysm. There is no data to indicate that steroid use may cause an aneurysm.
Research as also shown a direct correlation between steroid use and all kinds of kidney damage, ranging from kidney stones to severe kidney failure.
