Question : My husband has a 5.5mm lung non-calcified lung nodule that was an incidental finding on a CT Scan. He is a non-smoker. I am wondering how likely this is to be cancerous? And, if caught early, as he is having no symptoms, can this be treated with success?

                                    Brief Answer:
More often that not non cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
These types of tiny lung nodules in non smokers are more often than not non cancerous. But it will need follow up. If it increases on follow up then we have to do needle aspiration. If it does turn out to be cancerous, it can be easily treated by surgery.
Hope this helps.
Regards
