Question : Can ultrasound tell if your pregnant with twins at three weeks
Brief Answer:
Confirm pregnancy before the ultrasound
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) First, do get your pregnancy is confirmed by a urine pregnancy test or serum beta HCG, which happens after one week of missed periods. Meaning 5 weeks after your last menstrual period.
2) If pregnancy is confirmed, then you can go ahead with ultrasound to identify if there is twin pregnancy. The gestational scan can be seen approximately 6 weeks from the last menstrual period.
3) Confirming pregnancy by a urine pregnancy test or serum beta HCG is the first test before the ultrasound scan.
Let me know if you need any more help.
