No Coumadin will not increase PSA level.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have
been taking Coumadin for PE and your routine blood tests have revealed progressive rise in PSA levels .
Coumadin is a blood thinner and has no relation with rise in serum PSA .
PSA is an enzyme secreted by prostate and may get raised in either infection of prostate and cancer of prostate .
Please go ahead and get prostate biopsy done as planned to rule out the same,.
Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to write if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you .

Thank you, Dr. XXXXXXX I appreciate your expertise. One quick follow-up question for you. In light of elevated PSA levels as reliable indicator coming under increased scrutiny, are you aware of any in depth studies regarding other factors that may cause elevated PSA, ie. other ailments, medication interaction or adverse reaction, injury, previous vasectomy surgery, or recent sexual activity. I would be curious to know if there is any new research. It seems that there could be many influences on the fluctuation of a single enzyme level. Thank you in advance for your expert advice.
