Brief Answer:
Fibroids common and need management.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. You are not alone in this. every 3 out of four women of childbearing age have uterine fibroids and that is more likely with no childbirth ( nulliparity) FIbroid itself reduces fertility and we advise their removal in order to get some hope for fertility. Increased uterus size is due to fibroid and is a benign condition and should be take care of.

if there are no symptoms then watchful waiting with use of GnRH analogs, IUD with progestin etc. However i would suggest to get it out under minimal invasive techniques for better odds of pregnancy in future.

MRi guided focused ultrasound surgery , uterine artery embolization, myolysis with electric current or laser, chromatolysis by freezing and shrinking it, endometria ablation, hysteroscopic resection and submucosal resection of fibroid are some of the options.

Talk to your ObGyn and let them decide what is best for you.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.

Khan

Brief Answer:
yes it can

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Enlarged uterus can put pressure on bladder on which uterus lies most of the time in anteverted position. So yes it could cause retention issues. However other etiologies should be sough out for the cause. Consulting your ObGyn at an earliest convenience would be wise in this regard.

I hope it helps.

I go back to the obgyn on Tuesday for an ultrasound..... when they did a Ct scan of the pelvis and abdomen they noticed an enlarged uterus that they said might be due to a fibroid. I'm afraid it might be cancerous

Brief Answer:
No cancer for sure

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back to me

Let me reassure you its not cancerous. Fibroids are always benign and very unlikely to be cancerous. Getting them cured helps fertility and relieve symptoms. No worries for cancer.

I hope it helps. .
