Can Uterus Cancer Recur After Removal Of Uterus?

default
Posted on Thu, 20 Nov 2014
Question: Hello Dr,

Recently my sister(age 42) had a surgery for cancer in uterus.
Since we dont kw much about it and with the general assumption I need few clarification.

Dr confirmed that its Cancer due to with they removed the Uterus. Also they mentioned there is no solution for it means it will occur again as there is no treatment or medicine to prevent from it.

Can you clarify me on these.

Seriously there is no treatment for this?
Since the Uterus is already removed, it means the cancer affected area is been removed then how it can come again?
After the surgery, if we know that it can come again then there is no medicine to prevent it?

Kindly clarify more on this.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Surgery follwed by chemotherapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since your sister is having cancer in uterus it has to be removed by surgery.

After surgery chemotherapy needs to be given from preventing cancer coming back and preventing recurrence.

After surgery and chemotherapy she can lead a normal life.
