Can Visceral Fat Be Eliminated The Same Way As Subcutaneous Fat?

Question: In the past 7 years I have grown a distended belly. I am 6', 260 #, 64, body builder and have been working out for 32 years (actually 33 next month). I would imagine that 15-20 pounds is the visceral fat around my organs. It is driving me crazy. I just had umbilical hernia with mesh (laproscopic) 7 days ago and I still wear the cuff as I feel safe with it on lus my distention is reduced.

Two questions, does one rid themselves of visceral fat thesame way as subcrutaneous fat (diet, cardio). I havea little love handles but very little fat elsewhere. It's about 15%. Question 2 - have I just set myself up for a lifetime of ain ad uncomfortableness by using mesh? That is all I seem to be reading now after the fact. I have to consult the internet because Dr. sent me home with no after care instructions and no one in his office will return my calls. Thanks
Also, another question on the Umbilical hernia repair with mesh, yesturday I was taking a shower and I was standing soaping up. I then removed the showerhead with my right hand to sray soap off. When it came down to "get underneath", I reached down with the shower head to the left of my scrotum, whle I remained acing forward and bent over a bit to get further back underneath. I used my left hand to help remove the soap while the spray was coming towards it. All of a sudden I felt a sharp stabbing pain about where one might think the upper (my right) corner of the mesh might be. Is this likely a staple that I caught just right as twisted, bent and reached "just right"? I red about nerves becoming intertwined with th4 mesh. Thaat doesn't mean pain upon any movement does it...or is it just a negative factor when trying to remove the mesh for whatever reaon.

I suppose that now that everythig has pretty much worn off...and as look for answers on the internet, that I would normally get from a "professional" doctor, I amgetting buyer's remorse as I put too much faith in my new doctor that hewould do the right thing. I am going to go to the hospital to get the surgical report to see which mesh he used. Thanks,
doctor

Brief Answer:
An ultrasound exam is needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

Yes visceral fat can be eliminated the same way as subcutaneous fat.

Also the same principles apply to it as well.

Diet and Cardiovascular exercises can influence the visceral fat same as the they influence the sucutaneous fat.But the former takes longer period.

This visceral fat of 15-20 pounds can be eliminated by sheer excercises.

For quick results you can undergo Liposuction procedures as well.

Lipo should be suitable option in your case once you recover from hernia repair.

The Mesh for hernia repair is absolutely necessary in your case.

Pertaining to the pain and its nature -suuden stabbing pain-this might possibly indicate a motional artefact or a loosened suture/staple.

The nerve interwining is a rare and a remote possibility.

For this I advise you to get an ultrasound of the adbomen to document significant changes if any.

Further management if any,is based on the test results.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.
