Can Vitamin E Oil Be Applied Over The Stitches On The Lower Lip?

Question : Hello I have just had stitches o my lower lip and they will be in for about 5-6 days. How can I keep my lips moisturized ? And do I need to wait until stitches are put to put on scar creams or vitamin e?

To keep lips moisturised you can put on vaseline which is sterile in nature.

Scar creams/vitamin E is applied after stitches are taken out. But has limited utility in preventing the scars. Best way to prevent scars is to use thinner thread for stitches. A plastic surgeon will be better able to help you with that.
