Hi XXXXXXX
When the fever is diagnosed as dengue it is better to avoid meftal or ibuprofen to reduce fever!
Dengue is notorious to cause bleeding tendencies so these medications which affect platelet function should not be given.
You use paracetamol in the appropriate dose and if the fever is still high you an do tepid sponging.( for tepid sponging kee a basin of tap water, soak some small towels, wring the and cover his both legs and arms and forehead with these towels. Repeat this process till temp comes down to 99.5 deg F.
A normal platelet count in your child is a good sign.
It still needs to be repeated during the course of his illness.
Take care
All the best
God bless
