Dear Mr Lalwani
You can definitely use wipes to clean the baby after passing stools. I usually recommend Himalaya baby wipes. Also give bath daily to baby.
I hope baby has recovered and is doing fine.

thank u dr....one last question...how much time a 15 day baby pass stool and urine in a day....and how much ml a baby feed milk in one time...thanksss
Brief Answer:
Stools 1 -2 times a day is okay
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Lalwani
Every baby is unique and have their own stools frequency . On an average a newborn baby will pass stools 1 -2 times a day, sometimes once in 2 days.
Urine output is usually considered adequate by checking for fullness of diapers everytime you consider changing them . Ideally parents change the diapers when it becomes full or increase in size. diaper change of 2-3 per day is considered adequate.
Babies usually feed on demand. Feed them whenever they are hungry or wake up. Exclusive breastfeeding till 6 months of age. If you notice these signs, then your baby should be getting enough milk:
1. Your baby's doctor is satisfied with how much weight your baby has put on since birth.
2. Your baby is feeding at least six to eight times a day and is content after a feed.
Breastfeeding feels comfortable and painless.
3. Breast feel emptier and softer after feeds.
4.Your baby looks healthy and has firm skin which bounces right back if you pinch it gently.
5. Your baby is passing enough urine. Your baby's urine should be pale and odourless.
6. You can see and hear your baby swallow while he is feeding, and he seems to be latched on properly.
7. Your baby changes rhythm while sucking and pauses during feeds. He should start feeding again when he's ready, and come off your breast spontaneously when he's finished.
8.Your baby's stool is a yellowy-mustard colour by the time he is five days old.
Do write to me anytime for any assistance.
Wishing you a very happy parenthood.
God bless you.
Wishing you a very Happy Diwali

hello dr...my parents are forcing me to put some drops of sweet oil in baby's ear nose and eyes....so that he can get better eye sight better hearing power and smelling senses....but i didnt do that yet....plzz suggest me is it necessarry to do all that....
Brief Answer:
No oil in nose /eyes/ear
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Mr Lalwani
Majority of our Grandparents have their own belief about growth of baby. Putting oil in nose, ear and eyes are not beneficial and there is no scientific basis. It may do more harm than good. Oil in eyes may irritate the eyes and cause redness.
I would not recommend putting anything. Majority of Paediatrician will agree to this.
