Brief Answer:
Possibly tinea infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting us with your health concern.

The symptoms you are experiencing are most likely to be due to Tinea (fungal) infection. Rarely yeast (candida) infection can cause similar symptoms. However, the treatment for both these conditions is the same.

- Apply Lotrimin (Clotrimazole) ointment twice daily to the affected area. The symptoms should start improving in 4 to 5 days. If the symptoms do not improve in a week, follow up with your primary provider to rule out other infections like Herpes. However, Herpes is not a concern at this point.

- Keep the area clean and dry. Clean with mild soap and water.

- Wear loose-fitting cotton undergarments.

As mentioned before, if symptoms do not improve in a week, follow up with your primary provider.

Hope this answers your question.
