Question: I have a friend who has been sick for roughly a week and diagnosed with COVID. He is not coughing up small amounts of blood. Can you please advise what the next steps are?

Hello dear,

If he has been a week with covid19 symptoms and coughing up blood also I would think about having a ct scan of the lungs, CRP, DDimer and a total blood count with formula.
I believe he may have pneumonia and antibiotics and dexamethasone may be needed.
Also blood thinners may be needed.
The ct scan will show how much are the lungs affected and what can be used.
