Question : my wife is 54 years old in menopause. her total cholesterol from 180 reached 243!
HDL is 76.
243:76=3,2
she should be helped with some kind of medication;

I understand your concern and would explain that as long as Total cholesterol/HDL ratio is below 4.5, there is no reason to take any medications, as she is not at an increased cardiovascular risk.

You should know that HDL is also considered the good cholesterol, which protects us from atherosclerosis.

As her HDL is high, this is a good thing.

So, I would not recommend any medication.

Just continue with a healthy diet( low fat and sugar, low cholesterol) and exercise regularly (30min of walk per day would be great).
