Question: Request this query to Cardiologist XXXXXXX XXXXXXX ..

Hello Doctor. As per my last query, am 10 weeks pregnant withy second baby. I complained about heart palpitations/ skipped beats last time and you suggested me to wear a holter monitor. I did meet a cardiologist and he asked to wear an event recorder for 7 days. I've attached the PDF report of my holter. Am yet to meet my doctor. Can you please review the report?.. I get random spells of palpitations now.

Brief Answer:
Report is good

Detailed Answer:
Hello Vidhya, I hope you are doing well.

I have gone through the entire report and I am happy to tell you that the report is very normal with non significant load of premature heart beats. This means the ectopic activity is very less and there is no abnormal heart activity happening.

So there is no need to be concerned and try to ignore them. Also I remember you are hypothyroid so just keep a check on that, as thyroid levels usually gets dropped in pregnancy thereby requiring an increase in dose of medication.

I hope this will clear your doubts and relieve your worries. I wish you a very happy new year ahead.

Thank you for the positive response doctor. I have attached the final report of my holter monitor. The old report is the one that I got a day earlier or before completion since I had more of palpitations that day... I was told to wear it for a week... When I compared the old and new report, I could find that premature beats/ectopics have increased from 329 to 433 in a single day?... Which means am getting around 100 in a day? Pls let me know if this is normal... Do all healthy people get these beats? How many is normal in a 24 hour period?. Pls explain. And happy new year to you doctor.

Brief Answer:
Hello again

Detailed Answer:
Your ectopic load is ver minimal (not even 1 % of total recording). 10% or more is considered significant so there is no need to worry.

Yes, even healthy individuals get them.
