Can You Tell What This Is By My Right Toe

Question: Can you tell what this is by my right toe (link below) and whether I need to do anything for it? I've had it many months. Periodically I file it down. I actually filed it before the picture. (It was a little bigger.) It doesn't hurt or cause any symptoms.

Thanks for the query and photograph.
It looks like xerosis, dryness of skin around the nail.
The nail plate is normal so you don't need to worry.
Just apply an urea based cream twice daily for a month.
