Question : 8 weeks post colectomy. Can't ejaculate, no more even small amounts of preejaculate appears during attempts to masturbate. What little information I can find either talks about Kegel exercises to help premature ejaculation...not my problem...or says nothing can be done if this happened after surgery. I used to have sex 2 to 3 times per day...or masturbate.Erections are not a problem. After horrible colectomy, I'm unlikely to seek surgery if that is what it takes to fix this. I am starting to wonder if this isn't even retrograde ejaculation, but a clogged area in my anatomy. Could damage from the Foley catheter post surgery cause this? Yes...Will see a urologist, but was seeking some guidance before I can make that happen in the next few weeks. Lastly, during any efforts to ejaculate, sexual desire is there, but just as I think it might happen, it does not. I did have a vasectomy 25 years ago...but that didn't ever seen to have an impact with pre ejaculate or actual ejaculation until the surgery.

This is most likely due to damaged nerves during the procedure. This leads to inability to trigger the sequence of events necessary for ejaculation. It could also be related to retrograde ejaculation. Was there any manipulation in the urinary tract or prostate related procedures? Generally, this will cause decreased seminal fluid production and/or backward flow.
In either case, a urologist consult is essential. This will allow for more detailed assessment. Also, it will be necessary for the surgeon to state the extent of surgery in the pelvis which appears to be the primary cause of this through damaged nerves.
