Question : How often can you do a cardioconversion safely? Is there a minimum time you should wait between 2 procedures?

Hi Kherrmann,

Cardiac conversion is a procedure in which the disturbed heart rhythm( arrhythmia) is restored to normality. There are 2 types of Cardio conversion 1) Chemical 2) Electrical.

Chemical cardioversion is usually done at hospital depending on patient condition from days to week.

Electrical cardioversion is the of two types external and XXXXXXX Emergency External generally done on patients with life threating ventricular arrhythmias. XXXXXXX is done in patients with atrial fibrillation/ PSVT's( paroxysmal supra ventricular tachycardias).

This is the general information regarding the cardio conversion. As far as your question is concerned it is unclear what type you are referring to and need much more details to be able to give you a specific answer.

However the most common cardioversion in typical Afib cases is chemical ( with medicines).
