Question : more than strepmy six year old son had strep recently. he finished the antibiotics on friday. today he woke up complaining of a head and neckache. then started to complain of a stomach ache as well. he has a fever of 101 and is very fatigued. should i be conserned or is it just the flu

Thank you for your query.I understand your concern.
It might be flu .
These are symptoms of a viral infection.
Give him rest and antipyretics.
Give him plenty of fluids and nutritious diet.
Kindly go for blood tests if the fever persists beyond 3 days.
Consult your doctor if the problem persists.

he skipped dinner i could not get him to eat. i gave him a fiber chewable and sent him to bed. the fever went down a little but still elevated and he is still complaining about his stomach. thank you for your help

Hi,
You have done the right thing.Give him some antispasmodics for pain and some anti-acid medications for the gastric bug.
He should be better in a few days time.
