Child Is Suffering From UTI, Fever And Swollen Tonsillitis. Taking Cefixime. Any Effective Medicine?
Question: sir my daughter is six year old & she is suffering from uti but urine culture is negative .She has also swollen tonsillitis & she frequently have suffering from fever.doctor gave her cefixime 100mg but still she has fever can we give her medicines seperatoly for tonsillitis? as she has sore throt

Since urine culture is negative, probably she doesnt have UTI.
Since how many days she's having fever? how many days have you given her cefixime?
Cefixime doesnt cover tonsillitis, so if tonsillitis diagnosis is for sure, then we have to give her suitable antibiotics like amoxycillin. try it orally for 48 hrs & if problem still persists we need to start her on IV antibiotics , and a complete blood test evaluation has to be done.

She is having fever since last 4 days but today the fever was on higher side. She often catches fever. She is also very much sensitive to the Tonsillitis. In Feb.'13 she had been suffering with fever & tonsillitis. Dr. here advised Amoxycillin & we did complete coarse of the same. For about a month she was OK but now the re occurrence of the same is worrying us very much. Kindly advise us the complete cure of tonsillitis so that she could get rid of this.

Thanks for giving more information about your daughter's issue. You can try amoxy+clavulanic acid. Discuss with your doctor about it.
Regarding complete cure, if tosillar enlargement is big causing frequent tonsillitis and fever then tonsillectomy is the only option left. But we can wait for few more episodes of tonsillitis because surgery should be the last option and usually children's tonsil shrinks with age.
