Question : I got a 2 yrs old kid.He is suffering for fever for the last 3 days.I am consulting a pediatrics here in kolkata yesterday as per advice of doctor we missed the pulse polio drop while other doctor said that we should have taken it.Can you plz suggest also there was vaccination due for him on 13th of this month ? which is delayed due to same plz suggest.

Pulse polio to be attempted in every child except when the child is critically ill.

Idea of pulse polio is to improve the Herd immunity of the society. Should be given to masses at some particular time.

However pulse polio is usually advocated in India in the duration of about 5 days. so it can be taken now also.

Regarding other vaccinations except polio they can be differed for a week or two if the child is sick.
