                                            Thanks for the query
‘Hyperhydrosis’ or the clammy skin occurs due to numerous reasons. A few to mention are:
1. Anxiety
2. Thyroid related problems
3. Stress
4. Anaemia, etc.
This is one of the conditions which are difficult to treat. This occurs due to over stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system or increased number of sweat glands in the skin leading to excessive sweating.
You can get the routine blood investigations done to rule out the common causes mentioned above. And, try home remedies such as rubbing talcum powder or cornstarch for a couple of days to get rid of excess sweat on the hands. Also, try applying antiperspirant (with Aluminium chloride) on the palms which plugs and obstruct the sweat ducts. Any anxiety or stress related factors, it has to be addressed accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query, if you have any more doubts you are welcome.
