Complained Of Stomach Ache. Feeling Discomfort. Guide
Question: My grandson has comaplined of stomach ache over the past year, he wants lie on something cold to relieve pain. He does not seem to be in terrible pain but is clear to me is experience some pain/disconfort. Drs recommended testing for allergies. He eats all foods not a picky eater will eat spicy foods as well as bread. Loves candy that we try to limit.

The causes of abdominal pain in children are varied and most often less serious. Most important thing in abdominal pains in children is to watch for severity symptoms that could be associated. Such severity symptoms include:
-fever
-vomiting
-diarrhea
-bloody stools
-severe pains that invalidate the child.
The appearance of any such symptoms necessitate and immediate consultation at the E.R.
Common causes of abdominal pains in children include;
-abdominal flu which is associated sometimes with loose stools
-Salmonellosis which is associated with constipation and some times fever. Testing is done by doing a stool culture or by doing a WIDAL test.
-Intestinal parasites; children should be de-worm
-yeast infection of the gut following antibiotic intake generally
-Allergies
-Constipation
-indigestion
etc
You definitely have to take the allergy test, do a stool exam as well as a WIDAL test.
Measures such as abundant fluid intake, optimal feeding without exaggeratedly getting full,thorough hand hygiene, increase consumption of fruits and vegetables etc are needed.

The feeling of cold acts as a local pain killer by bringing temperatures below physiological range thus pain sensation is diminished.
Stool exams would check for the presence of bacteria, parasites such as yeast and worms while WIDAL test will test for the presence of Salmonella species infection that causes enteric fever or typhoid.

Assuming tests return negative and stomach aches is food related.
What foods should be avoided and how can we proceed to test each.
For instance he eats tomato sauce,peperone, sushi, olives, fruits,some raw vegetables[carrots, lettuce, snap peas], cooked brocolli and green beans,bread, chocolate, ice cream, american sliced and mozarella cheese, salmon.

In food allergy, a small amount of certain food types will cause severe and intolerable effects. Common food types known to cause allergies include;
shrimps, lobster, crab, Peanuts, Tree nuts, Fish, and eggs ( generally sea food and dairy food)
With food intolerance, the individual can tolerate certain quantities of even food types that are a problem.
