Question : Hi, I think I am experiencing my first genital herpes outbreak. I am on day 11, how much longer will this last and how can I speed up healing?

First episode can last from 7 to 14 days depending on the severity. I usually advice my patients to take an oral antiviral e.g either acyclovir or valacyclovir to hasten healing.
