Could I Get Advise Take Vitamin D All Year Long?

Question : Hello,

I have a very light, white skin, northern European type. My dermatologist said that I should take vitamin d all year long, my GP said that maybe only during winter time. Which one should i follow? Right now I am taking vitamin D with K vitamin.

Don't take it all year.

Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

You may need to take vitamin D according to your deficiency.
If you have deficiency you may need treatment for 6-12 weeks and the levels will get back to normal.
There is no need to take it all the year.
Taking vitamin D all year is not recommended,better to take treatment in Winter and stop it in summer.
