Question : Could a mammogram cause muscle spasms across back at shoulder blades. Had the test Wed morning, woke up unable to move without severe back pain. Still hasn't subsided by much, hurts to breathe, cough, sneeze, and move. I am osteoporotic, 68 yrs old, 5'2
Brief Answer:
Side effect of mammogram
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to a side effect of mammogram.
The breast tissue does have a small amount of muscle in it, and these muscles may involuntarily contract, like a muscle spasm.
I recommend to use a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen three times a day.
I also recommend to use a magnesium supplement.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
