Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Musculoskeletal problems such as overuse or a strain will increase with movement whereas angina or heart attack will be unchanged by movement (although exertion will make it worse). GERD can be worse with lying down, which would not increase angina or other cardiac type pain. Does movement of your arm or chest wall, or change in position make it worse?

Detailed Answer:
Hi - then this is unlikely to be due to cardiac or GERD problems, particularly if touch makes it worse.

For non-severe muscle strain, usually resting the area and taking an NSAID is enough to help it resolve. As you have GERD, instead of an NSAID, consider taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) so that your stomach doesn't get irritated.

If that doesn't do the trick or if the pain is severe or increasing, then do go in to have it looked at.
