
Could Having Left Neck And Shoulder Pain For Nearly 10 Years Be Heart Related?

Question : Hi, I am F, 41. I have been having Left neck and shoulder pain for nearly 10 yes now. In the past 6 years this pain intensifies when I am stressed, over thinking or have general anxiety. In the last year till now this neck pain has decreased but the shoulder is frequent with pain in my left upper back. I am also experiencing tingling, pain and slight numbness in my left arm and legs which come and goes based on my mood. I for the past 6 months I have been having needle like pain in my left chest above my breast. I have slightly high cholesterol which became know in the last 3 years. Could this be heart related? I am so worried. Medication. I have taken for this condition: Levothyroxine, Cholesto, Neurobium. Please help.

After carefully going through your medical condition I would like to tell you that your symptoms seems to be more of stress related.
However taking into consideration your 40+ age group the possibilities of degenerative changes should also be considered. It’s advisable that you should get the following investigations done to understand the underlying possible etiology.
1.cervical spine x-ray
2. ECG
3. Vitamin B12 and vitamin D
