Question : I've had calf cramping for about 3 week on and off - could it be DVT?
Brief Answer:
Unlikely
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
Calf cramping could be due to a number of reasons. Even though DVT is a possibility, it is less likely. Had it been DVT, the pain would not have given you the scope to wait for three weeks.
A number of things need to be discussed in order to determine the probable cause. Your age, sex, whether you need to be in reclining position for long, etc. need to be known. A clinical examination would also be important.
As of now, I would insist you to take juicy fruits like citrus fruits, and bananas. They contain plenty of potassium and help in relaxation of muscles and should ease your cramping
