Could It Be Vestibular Neuritis I Am Feeling Little Spinning Head/ Vertigo From Yesterday With BP Normal?

Question: hi,
I am feeling little spinning head/vertigo from yesterday.
I checked bp at home once it was 132/92 but then after 15 mins i have taken 5 readings and avg of those was 122/84. today morning also chekced bp and it was 120/86.
No other symptoms like fever or headache. Little uneasyness and and feeling of imbalance.
Two weeks back had vomitings and vertigo then ent doctor tested soemthing and said it could be vestibular neuritis and given vertin 16mg for 5 days. then it was cured in two days. But this time no vomitings but vertigo(little) is there while walking or doing anything or even sitting.
i have little constipation problem. Feel constipation atleast twice a week. Today i have taken vertin16mg again. what should i do now? my sugar when checked two months back was 110 post lunch. do i need to get it checked again?or it due to high bp?

Brief Answer:
Get examined by an ENT specialist and continue treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Most likely the vertigo episodes are due to vestibular neuritis or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
You should continue Vertin.
Get examined by ENT doctor again.
No need to get blood sugar tested.
Not related to blood pressure.

hi sir,
thanks for the response.
Yesterday afternoon i checked bp again and it was 118/79 in office clinic.
For almost a year i am in a feeling that vetigo is due to high bp. Yesterday i have taken vertin16mg twice and now it is better than yesterday but not completly cured.
do i need to get brain ct or any other test? what is the treatment for permanent cure of vestibular neuirits? how doctor will confirm if it is Vestibular N or not?
Can i go to gym with this problem? today i feel vertigo when i see upwards or bend down my head.
Vertigo is anyway related to gas problem or acidity problem?

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You should continue vertin for 2 weeks.
Vertigo exercises can be done too.
This vertigo is not related to blood pressure, acidity or gas problem.
Avoid gym for few days as change in posture may aggravate vertigo.
Wishing you good health and early recovery.

Hi Sir,
I have taken vertin for two days and stopped. then after three days dizziness started again and it was worst yesterday. I went to see the same ENT doctor again and she tested something called positional testing and said result is negative. But even yesterday night i felt vertigo if lie down on right or back and nothing when on left side.
even today in the hospital vertigo was similar when i lie down on the hospital bed. But during the positional testing time i didnt feel vertigo. Then she asked me to continue vertin16mg for two weeks, twice a day and also asked me to do vestibular exercises.
Also she said i may go for brain MRI after 15 days or now.
Thenif the problem persisits VEMP and BERA.
Is it something serious? Brain problems causes this kind of vertigo?
Need your opionion on this.

Brief Answer:
Continue treatment as advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You are most likely suffering from benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
You should continue vertin 16 mg twice or thrice for 2 weeks.
No serious problem likely.
You can get mri brain to rule out any cerebellar infarct. The possibility of this is less likely as the problem and vertigo is not permanent and posture dependent.

hi sir,
thanks for the response.
Position dependent in the sense it is worse when i lie down on right or back but it still there when i stand straight or sit in straight position.
doctor said in the positional test eye ball is not rotating so there is no problem of dizziness.
then she asked me to go for 15 days vertin or brain MRI.
cerebellar infarct - is this something related to brain tumors?

If it is VN is there any permanent cure? there is no other medicine to completely cure it?
And is it becz of life style and stress or any other infection in the body?
Please clarify

Brief Answer:
Get MRI and continue Vertin

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Cerebellar infarction is not tumor.
The presentation is unlikely to be tumor related.
Positional means it changes or aggravates with position change.
Get an Mri to rule out brain stroke.
Continue Vertin till then.

Hi Sir,
What are the possible chances for a brain stroke? as i started this feeling a year back and it was normal after that till last month.
Just asking to understand how it can be.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Neeraj Kumar (9 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Less likely to be stroke

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It is unlikely to have a stroke if such episode occurred 1 year back and reappear with similar features.
It's up to you to get imaging.
